PIE Partnerships Grow

Play in Education exists to equip and encourage teachers to fully engage the minds of their students by leveraging the power of play, and so we are thrilled to announce two new play partnerships that will help us promote play as an indispensable part of hands-on learning.

The Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor exists to study and share the science behind humor and laughter and how we can intentionally apply humor to make our lives better.

From the AATH website: "...humor’s innumerable health benefits include significant stress reduction, greater pain tolerance increased blood flow, and enhanced immune function? Plus, it has a wealth of other benefits, such as improved memory retention, enhanced trust, credibility, connection, and empathy. It even improves memory retention...We enhance the health, well-being, and performance of people, organizations, and communities through humor."

Wow. now that's something we can get behind. We will be attending the annual AATH Conference in New Orleans on May 14-16, 2020. Won't you join us?

Founded in 2009, the US Play Coalition is an international network of individuals and organizations that promotes the value of play throughout life.

From The US Play Coalition website:

"We are an international network of individuals and organizations that recognize play as a valuable and necessary part of a healthy and productive life....the coalition hosts conferences and educational trainings, encourages and conducts research and provides avenues of communication about the value of play worldwide. Our membership is diverse – play researchers, educators, park and recreation professionals, health scientists, architects, landscape architects, designers, planners, business and community leaders, psychologists, physicians, parents and more." Here at PIE, we are proud to count ourselves among such company!

The US Play Coalition's annual conference, Value of Play: PLAY FOR ALL is March 29 - April 1, 2020 in Clemson, South Carolina. We hope to see you there!
