The Premier Mentoring Event for Kid Creators is Nov. 17th in Chicago
Who hasn't dreamed of inventing the next Frisbie®, Barbie® or Lego® System? The Young Inventor Challenge provides an opportunity for children ages 6 to 18 to showcase their own original toy or game inventions to toy and game industry professionals, members of media and the general public, all while building their imagination, creativity and presentation skills!
Last year, over 200 kids from the US, Mexico and Canada submitted their inventions online and presented them at the Chicago Toy and Game Week, where over 50 toy design industry professionals acted as judges in the competition, offering every participant a chance to learn from professionals in the field of fun.
This year the grand prize winner for "Most Marketable Toy/Game" will receive a trip to Target Headquarters in Minneapolis for a behind the scenes tour to learn how a product moves from selection all the way to store shelves! Airfare and hotel accommodations for the winner and up to 3 family members is included! Other prizes include a 2 night trip to New York to be a guest presenter at the Toy of the Year awards, $500 and $1000 scholarships and more.
Some participants may even have their inventions actually produced by a toy company, like last year's winners, Olivia Wasilewski and Brynna Siewers, fourth graders from Chicago, who saw their game Ship of Treasures produced by Pressman Toys!
The deadline to enter is October 31, 2018. All entry materials must be received by November 2, 2018 to be eligible.
